11am–3:30pm, Elm in the Nucleus Building (University of Edinburgh)
Join us to celebrate the finale of our Spring into Summer challenge! You don’t need to have participated in the challenge or finished your challenge plan: anyone is welcome. We’ll spend the morning writing, have lunch together (please bring food, as there aren’t any open cafes on campus), and hand out prizes for our various challenge winners.
Next, we are hosting a panel featuring local creatives, small publishers and members of our very own community! We’ll be discussing the barriers women and queer writers still face in the writing world, action we can take to address them in our communities in Edinburgh and further afield, and taking audience questions. We are really sharpening our focus on making sure writing is a feasible hobby or career for our members and the wider community, so we’re excited to hear what changes our panel members and you want to see.
This event is free and open to any woman or non-binary writer, including those who haven’t attended WWWE or the challenge before. So, please spread the message!
